Office Hrs: M 3-4, T 11-12:30, 2-3:20, Th 23:20

The purpose of the discussion is to help increase your understanding and appreciation for genetics. This will be done through discussions in class and online in the Genetics Newsgroup, solving problems from the textbook, discussion of exam questions, and various genetic experiments done using online simulations. Grading will be based on written reports, participation in the newsgroup, and three exams which will be given every four weeks during the Friday lecture. Exam questions will cover material from lecture, typical genetic problems (some of which will be taken from the assigned problems in the textbook) and the online assignments.

The schedule below shows which problems you should be working on in a particular week, it is very important that you not fall behind, as it is very difficult to catch up. Clicking on any of the assignments will take you to the handout for that assignment. The assignments are due in the week noted, in your scheduled discussion section (unless other wise noted). Assignments turned in late lose 5% of their points for each day late (one point per day for 20 pt. assignments, 0.5 pts. for 10 pt. assignments).
